About Me

My photo
English major and a biochemistry major at CSU working our way through the world and onto degrees (hopefully). Though we seem to be almost complete opposites, we have a lot in common. We've got very similar, yet awkward and inappropriate senses of humor. We are food driven - it's our main reason for getting out of bed every morning, and if one more person smokes outside of our window, Katie will drop an anvil. Well, at least water balloons.

Home Again (Katie)

My first few days back home reminded me how relaxing college was. My 3 dogs dug out and a car hit one. He will live! He’s in a cast for 6-8 weeks because of a dislocated paw. One went MIA for a day but the pound picked him up and he spent a night in jail. The last one, one of our fantastic neighbors caught. We have all of them home now, thank God. My family, Brandon, and I all trenched the yard along the fence, put down chicken wire, concrete blocks, and then buried it all. I still can’t move. I’m back into my own tiny room. What I didn’t realize is that while I was up in Fort Collins, I accumulated tons of crap that was not meant to be moved back into this tiny room. I have dug myself a path so that I don’t die trying to go pee in the middle of the night but other than that I’m not sure where all this is going to end up. I miss college. Don’t get me wrong, it’s great to be back home, but I slept better during finals week.

On the bright side, I LOVE SLEEPING IN. Caitlin tried to get me to sleep in the whole year but I refused. Who knew what I was missing? I also love walking into the kitchen and having an entire freezer, fridge, and pantry FULL of yummy stuff to snack on and cook at 1 a.m. It’s pretty great to have tons of food when you’re a food lover. I would like to announce that I only gained 2 pounds during my freshman year and I’m almost positive it’s in muscle. I’m convincing myself of that because I can no longer take my midnight runs to lose those 2 pounds due to Colorado Springs turning off every other street light so it is WAY to dark to be running around by myself. I would take one of my dogs but the only one that I can count on to protect me, not just lick the perp to death, is in a cast right now. He hobbles and isn’t too scary. I would probably gain more weight waiting for him to catch up.

Missouri Tip Update: We are T minus 26 days!!!! We now have our itinerary and budget finalized. Brandon is excited to go but not nearly as excited to blog about it. I’m apparently the blogger in the relationship. We will be going to Silver Dollar City, the Arch, the St. Louis Zoo, Grant’s Farm, and Six Flags St. Louis. We’re also going to visit Gerald, MO. Gerald is the tiny tiny town my dad grew up in. It has a little over 1000 people. Plenty of pictures with each blog!
